Rain of blossoms

Image belongs to *karliashi if you want to use it for anything, you have to clear it with her! I allow images to be used on non-profit blogs as long as you DO NOT EDIT them by adding text and graphics to them! And as long as you add my name to it!

Finally finished my commision for *karliashi who was pleased with the result, wich of colours epeased me! It was as usual made in Photoshop CS with my Wacom Intuos.

TIPS!
A trick for creating a nice bark texture - do a lot of texturing on the bark, with readymade photoshop textures or ones you download, and do some paintwork yourself. Then duplicate your layer, go to Filters - Stylize (?) and choose Emboss (great trick for rocks, mountaints and dirt texture etc as well!) After that you can play with opacity and layer options to get a really nice gnarly texture for your tree trunk! Don't forget to do silouhette editing on the trunk once you a done!

To create the cherrytree blossoms I made a seemless pattern on cherryflowers in photoshop. I then used the pattern clone to draw the flowers with help of my flower pattern. It is better than creating a texture/brush you use with the brushes as they are transperant and loose colordetails you've made!

I can upload the pattern if you are interested? If you need a different size, just open the pattern, rescale it to a size you think will be alright, and save it.

Don't know how to add a new pattern? Go to Edit, and then there should be something named Set pattern or something similar. A window will open that allows you to name the pattern and then you are done!
