sick and tired of this showing up stolen all over the place. Sorry, but this is how it's gonna be.

Fire Fire

(Ignis - latin for fire)

The second of my elementals. hope once again you approove of my take on it - again I'm am searching for another way to convey the element; instead of the classical flames and golden red colors, I've gone for the subtler tones of ash, smoke and glows.

You might recognize the equine from a sketch I had up for critique a while back - I took the critique into consideration, and do hope you see it. ;)

edit: Okay, so I have redone the markings, I think I like them this way now! Thanks for you suggestions and input!
And just for the record - I WILL NOT ADD ANY ORANGE!! I know many of you have suggested it, but I refuse! I don't want anything orange in it, only the red of dying embers, or embers cooling that might be blown to life again by the wind! ;)

Wow this is beautiful. I love the concept you have of the fire elment. I take it the red part it the glowing you see when a fire dies down and you just see smoke with some redish orange cinders right?

Again, a great interpretation of the element. I love the look of smoke and ash and glowing embers. And his conformation looks great. :)

The markings look a little bit too sharp for my taste but still you get a fav :) Good work!

See life through an artist's eye
I think it works really well - it has the impression of burning embers deep in the fire - very well done

Mia,
Nifty.
The red in the mane seems to eminate from the unicorn more than does the red of the sharper markings on the body.
